Not all Halloween surprises are spooky, it turns out, as Offset celebrated the 2025 edition of the holiday by dropping a new project entitled HAUNTED BY FAME. The release, which arrived with little fanfare and was preceded by no advertisements outside of a social media tease from the rapper, marks his second album of the year. While KIARI is perhaps the more serious body of work, an autobiographical look at one of rap’s most influential artists, HAUNTED BY FAME is a gleeful experiment, an off-the-cuff treat for his devoted followers.

Just because the vibes are laidback, though, doesn’t mean there aren’t any gems. “I HEARD” features YoungBoy Never Broke Again and marks one of the highest-profile collaborations of the year, while “FASHION ICON” finds the rapper interpolating the sounds of a younger generation of rap futurists like Playboi Carti and Yeat. HAUNTED BY FAME is a stylistic playground for Offset, who uses the low stakes of the surprise release to showcase some of his most interesting ideas to date.
