Don't Trust Me Album ∙ Rap ∙ 2025 EBK Jaaybo EBK Jaaybo Artist ∙ Hip-Hop/Rap Hailing from Stockton, California, EBK Jaaybo spits out heavy, heart-stopping street raps over warped, woozy samples on tracks like 2021’s “Traumatized” and “Street Love Song (PTSD).”

Dlow Curry (Deluxe)

Image
Dlow Curry (Deluxe) Album ∙ Rap ∙ 2025 Bossman Dlow Bossman Dlow began building momentum off his  Too Slippery  mixtape, but the success of his 2024 hit single “Get in with Me” really put numbers on the board for the Florida rap phenom. Following his  Mr Beat the Road  project from earlier in the year,  Dlow Curry  is a game-winning buzzer-beater from the logo. After likening himself to a certain point guard on the title track, he backs it up with skillful braggadocio on booming cuts like “The Biggest Pt. 2,” “Dlow Gucci,” and “Star Life.” While most of the tracks rightfully center him, he does get some notable support on the proverbial court. He’s joined by New York rap royalty on two occasions here—first by Bronx drill princess Ice Spice on the mellowed “Pillsbury Dlow” and then by Coke Boys don French Montana for the effortlessly swaggering “Mo Chicken.” Elsewhere, he trades off with Lil Baby and NoCap on “PJ” and “What You Need,” respectively, reminding...

Grime Scene Saviour

Image
Grime Scene Saviour Album ∙ Rap ∙ 2025 Chip “Jesus died at 33 but I can’t give up now,” Chip claims in the opening statement of his Messianic fifth studio album,  Grime Scene Saviour . Already a veteran of the industry at this point in his career, the UK rapper has stayed true to his early promise to never run out of bars—opponents, however, are less abundant these days. Chip sharpened his pen in prolific clashes with grime titans like Bugzy Malone and Stormzy over the years, but here his outlook is more king of the castle than knight in shining armor. With production harking back to the nascent period of grime—and the title track setting the stage for a momentous teamup with founding figures including Skepta, JME, and D Double E—the record serves to cherish, respect, and preserve the integrity of a culture that Chip has been central to shaping since he was a teenage boy. There is the occasional surprise: “Function Riddim” utilizing a pitch-shifted sample of Rose Royce’s “Love Don’...

Greatest Rapper Alive

Image
Greatest Rapper Alive Album ∙ Rap ∙ 2025 G Herbo G Herbo has long been the glue holding Chicago’s drill scene together. While artists like Lil Durk and Chief Keef transcended the sound’s roots to bring its rumbling drums and unflinching realism to an international stage, at home, artists like Lil Bibby, King Louie, the late Fredo Santana and G Herbo have kept the sermons at street level. But on 2025’s  Greatest Rapper Alive , G Herbo isn’t merely asking for his flowers—he’s demanding them. The project comes during the most productive time of the rapper’s career, following a busy 2024 highlighted by projects like  Big Swerv / Big Swerv 2.0  and  Strictly for My Fans 2.0 . Herbo knows that influence is nice, but attribution is better. On  Greatest Rapper Alive , he tries to cash in that goodwill for a different sort of accolade. On “Best Rapper Alive”, he raps, “My name in the hall of fame ’cause I’ma shoot, win or lose.”
